June 2008: MISSION TO GEELONG: With the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion, Holy Cross Orthodox Mission continues its active missionary outreach to Geelong. On Saturday June 7, the Missioners visited the parish of Our Lady Joy of All Who Sorrow (ROCOR) in Geelong once again. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated in English followed by fellowship in the parish library. There was also an open forum, question and answer session, on matters of the Orthodox Church and the Faith. We thank Metropolitan Hilarion, Fr Simeon and the parish of Our Lady Joy of All Who Sorrow. The next Divine Liturgy will be at the same parish on Saturday, July 5, 2008 commencing 9:00 AM. Fellowship with talk will follow afterwards. All are welcome.

Apr 2008: Holy Week & Pascha: Click here to see photos of the Mission celebrating Holy Week and Pascha. With great joy we have all proclaimed for yet another year the Paschal greeting, “Christ is Risen!” A full cycle of divine services for Holy Week and Pascha were celebrated completely in the language of this nation once again. Assisting at all the divine services were a growing number of clergy, choir, monastics and laypeople. All the divine services throughout Holy Week and Pascha were enhanced especially by the presence of our Mission choir and singers, enabling the full paschal ceremonies to be conducted with grace and splendour. Thank you to everyone who attended, participated and assisted during the solemn days of Holy Week and on the joyous day of Pascha. May you have a blessed Pascha.
