The monastery and the Mission are closely linked. Both have a strong missionary witness to the larger community, but in distinct ways. The Mission cannot exist without the guidance and spiritual empowerment given to it by the monastics.
Within the Orthodox Church, monasteries conduct the cycle of services as the framework of a life in which evangelical perfection is the aim. In the monastic tradition one may find that which is intrinsic to pure Orthodoxy - the universal expression of the Faith. The Monastery of the Prophet Elias can be said to be the natural extension in the city of Adelaide and its surrounding districts of the Mission.
The Monastery is on Frahns Farm Road, Monarto, South Australia. There is limited accommodation for male guests at the monastery, but visitors may find reasonable motel accommodation at nearby Murray Bridge (15 minutes away) or in Adelaide (45 minutes away).
